Utrecht Willow Project
Atoomweg 2, Utrecht, 2024
Commissioned by the Municipality of Utrecht, we teamed up with over 15 local volunteers to bring an 8-meter-tall living willow dome to life. What started as willows slated for biofuel became something far more meaningful—a growing structure that embodies community, creativity, and sustainability. This wasn’t just about building; it was about coming together to create something that will thrive for future generations. Now, in the heart of Utrecht, the dome stands as a living, breathing reminder of what’s possible when people and nature work hand in hand. Created with Theo Rekelhof.

OZORA FESTIVAL
Ozora, Hungary, 2024
At the Ozora Festival Willow Dome, we established an area dedicated to sound healing workshops, handpan workshops, and yoga classes. Observing individuals engage with the space for healing and personal growth was an experience that we will cherish, and we eagerly anticipate future festivals.

The “Floating” Willow Dome
Keizersgracht 157, Amsterdam, 2023
While it isn’t truly floating its located right on the side of the canal in front of “Café Brandon” a local pub that’s one of the oldest in Amsterdam (established 1626). Creating a much needed refuge for city goers to escape the tourists, relax, share a pint or just watch the boats roll by. Co-created with Bio-artist Mamoun Nukumanu from NYC.

Park X Park, Parking Space Conversion Project
Kattenburgerstraat 5, Amsterdam, 2024
Inspired by Amsterdam’s commitment to remove 10,000 parking spaces by 2025 I partnered with Marineterrein Park, Bio-artist Mamoun Nukumanu and various residents to show the possibilities just one small parking space can have. By using natural materials and promoting sustainable architecture, we hope to inspire others to create similar green spaces around the city.

The Duck Dome
Herengracht 150, Amsterdam, 2023
Polluted and filled with garbage. This willow dome was constructed to the breath live into an otherwise dead area of the gracht and create some much needed refuge for the wild life of Amsterdam. Upon constructing the dome we stumbled on a ducks nest right on the edge of the canal, fully exposed to boats and passersby. We decided to use the willows help protect the nest and to create a more welcoming space for the ducks that would be otherwise stepped on. Co-created with Bio-artist Mamoun Nukumanu from NYC.
